Rainy Saturday morning in parts of Gujarat; Bharuch, Ahmedabad, Vadodara districts get most rainfall

Bharuch: The state of Gujarat experienced scattered rainfall across multiple districts this morning, with talukas like Bharuch, Ahmedabad, and Vadodara witnessing significant showers.
According to the State Emergency Operation Center, Gandhinagar, Bharuch’s Jambusar Taluka recorded the highest rainfall with 30 mm (1.18 inch), followed by Dholera Taluka in Ahmedabad with 25 mm (0.98 inch), and Padra in Vadodara with 20 mm (0.79 inch) during the six-hour period from 6 AM today.
As of 12 noon, only 27 talukas reported rainfall. Among them, Vagra (Bharuch) – 17 mm, Karjan (Vadodara) – 16 mm, and Amod (Bharuch) – 13 mm were the few that received over half an inch of rain.
Smaller showers were observed in Khambhat (Anand) – 11 mm, Ranpur (Botad) – 8 mm, Jalalpore (Navsari) – 8 mm, and Dabhoi (Vadodara) – 7 mm, among others. Several urban centers, including Ahmedabad City, Surat City, and Vadodara, recorded light rainfall of around 1–3 mm.
Later, during 12 noon to 2 PM, rainfall lashed Sanand and Ahmedabad city, along with Kamrej in Surat. During these two hours, Savli (Vadodara), Kaprada (Valsad), and Songadh (Tapi districts) also saw some light showers.
The rainfall was mostly concentrated during the early morning hours (6 AM to 10 AM) and tapered off by late morning.
Meanwhile, as of 6 AM today, the state has received 109.40% of its annual seasonal rainfall, with 964.72 mm against the average of 882 mm (1995–2024). Among regions, Kutch recorded the highest rainfall, 35% above normal, followed by North Gujarat (118%), South Gujarat (114%), and East-Central Gujarat (111%).
