GSRTC to operate 1,600 extra buses to tackle Diwali rush

Surat: To facilitate passengers during the Diwali festival, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will operate over 1,600 extra buses from the Surat division. These buses will run between October 16 and 19 to various destinations across the state, including Saurashtra, North Gujarat, Panchmahal, and Dahod.

The additional buses have been arranged to accommodate the millions of people traveling from Surat to their hometowns during the festive season. The buses will operate from 4 pm to 10 pm. GSRTC has also announced that more buses may be added if passenger demand increases.

Group Booking Facilities for Societies

Under this scheme, passengers who book an entire bus for their group will be directly dropped at their hometowns. Advance bookings can be made at all bus stations in Surat, via GSRTC’s online platform, or through the GSRTC mobile app.

Bus Departure Points:

  • Buses to Saurashtra will depart from Ramchowk and Mota Varachha.

  • Buses to Dahod, Godhra, Zalod, and Panchmahal will depart from Surat City Bus Station (opposite Central Bus Station) and Ramnagar, Rander Road Bus Station.
