Inox Solar starts Solar Module Manufacturing at 1.2 GW Bavla Facility in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Inox Solar on Monday announced that its subsidiary, Inox Clean Energy, has begun production at its solar module manufacturing facility in Bavla.

The fully automated plant, equipped with advanced technology, produces N-type TOPCon solar modules using M10, G12R, and G12 solar cells, the company stated.

Inox Clean Energy Ltd’s wholly-owned arm, Inox Solar Ltd, said the first phase of the Bavla facility has a production capacity of 1.2 GW out of a planned 3 GW. This state-of-the-art module technology, recognized globally, offers higher efficiency, improved reliability, and lower degradation, setting new standards for modern solar installations.

The facility also produces bifacial modules that generate power from both sides, enhancing the capacity utilisation factor (CUF) and overall output.

Plans are underway to expand the Bavla plant to its full 3 GW capacity in the second phase. In addition, Inox Solar is developing an integrated 4.8 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal, Odisha.

This project is expected to strengthen India’s domestic solar manufacturing capabilities, reduce reliance on imports, and bolster the country’s position in the global renewable energy supply chain.

Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, said, “The first phase of our Bavla facility was completed in just four months. With the current domestic shortfall in solar cell production, integrated players like INOXGFL are well-positioned to tap into the large-scale opportunities in the sector.”

Inox Clean Energy is part of the INOXGFL Group and serves as the holding company for its renewable energy IPP business under Inox Neo Energies Limited, as well as the solar manufacturing business under Inox Solar.
