RSS to hold 672 programs across Gujarat on Vijayadashami as part of Centenary Year celebration

Ahmedabad: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is celebrating its “Centenary Year” by organizing numerous programs across Gujarat.

Addressing a press conference detailing the state-level initiatives, Dr. Jayantibhai Bhadesiya (Sanghchalak, Western Region, RSS) said that individual development is steadily progressing across the country through 95,848 RSS branches. On the occasion of Vijayadashami, 672 programs will be held, with an expected participation of 1,65,000 Swayamsevaks.

He added that during the centenary year, a variety of programs will be conducted across Gujarat, celebrating the Sangh’s work while engaging society’s virtuous strength. Distinguished members of society are also expected to participate in the Vijayadashami festival programs, including Padma Shri Chandrakantbhai Sompura, Dr. Vikrambhai Shah (Shelby Hospital), Sairambhai Dave (renowned folk writer), Chandubhai Virani (Balaji Wafers), Rameshbhai Thakkar (Shreeji Goshala), Ravibhai Tripathi (Retired High Court Judge), R.P. Patel (President, Vishva Umiya Foundation), Kalpeshbhai Soni (Gujarati film producer, Vash-2), Pujya Dwarkeshlalji Kadiwala, Mohanbhai Bavri (Dhumantu Samaj Karya, Akhil Bharatiya President), Surajitsingh Bagga (Gurudwara Committee President), Pujya P.P. Swami, and Swaminarayan Mandir, Kalupur.

Under the ‘Ghar Sampark Abhiyan’ (Home Contact Campaign), 2,10,000 workers will reach out to 9 million households, covering 18,000 villages over 23 days.

In collaboration with society, 4,670 Hindu Sammelans (conventions) will be organized, with an expected participation of 13,70,000 people.

Additionally, 571 goodwill meetings with social leaders will involve approximately 16,600 participants, while Pramukh Jan Goshtis at 92 locations are expected to see around 2,000 participants.

To encourage youth involvement in national work, Youth Conventions will be held at 580 locations, with participation of 87,000 young people.

During the centenary year, the Sangh plans to expand its branches to maximum locations across the state. Currently, Gujarat has 2,421 daily branches, including 1,247 student branches and 1,174 professional branches. Weekly branches (held once a week) total 1,612, while monthly branches total 844.

Dr. Bhadesiya also emphasized that for the comprehensive development of the nation and social transformation, programs focused on five key areas—family guidance, environment, social harmony, Swadeshi (self-reliance), and civic duty will be conducted in collaboration with society during the centenary year.
