Kosamba: Panic spread in Kosamba after a five-year-old child, returning home from tuition, was attacked by a pack of stray dogs. The child sustained injuries above the ear and narrowly escaped a more serious attack when locals rushed to rescue him.
The incident occurred in the old Kosamba area, when five-year-old Mohammed Shehzad Shah was returning from his tuition class and a group of stray dogs surrounded him under the overbridge, a short distance from his home. The dogs bit him above the ear, leaving him bleeding, and tried to drag him to the ground. However, locals arrived in time to save the boy.
The child’s family immediately rushed him to a hospital for treatment. Since the required injections were not available locally, they had to travel to Bharuch to ensure he received proper care.
According to residents, packs of stray dogs have been roaming freely on major roads in recent days, targeting lone pedestrians. In Kosamba, several individuals have been attacked, and even a goat was reportedly killed by the dogs. The recent attack on the five-year-old has renewed fear among locals.
Residents are urging authorities to take effective measures to control the stray dog menace before a more serious incident occurs and to ensure the safety of the community. DeshGujarat
