Gujarat CM to fly Delhi to meet the PM

Gandhinagar: Amid speculations that the State cabinet is going to be expanded, the Chief Minister of Gujarat is on a visit to National capital, New Delhi on the second day of Navratri.

Even though there has been speculation that CM’s visit to Delhi is related to a cabinet reshuffle, it has now come to light that Patel is in Delhi to attend a meeting of Narmada Water Disputes Tribunal (NWDT).

The meeting is set to focus on Narmada water sharing between Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. When the Sardar Sarovar Dam was constructed, rules were established regarding how much water each state would receive and the timing of storage. The Chief Minister will attend the meeting in Delhi to discuss this water-sharing formula.

He is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi also during his visit, it is learnt. This will be yet another meeting between the two. After the general elections of the State assembly in 2022, Bhupendra Patel has completed over half of the five year term. He has overall completed four years as Chief Minister. While some ministers of his cabinet lack visibility and performance, some others have attracted bad press due to their connections to scams. DeshGujarat
