September 23, 2025
Ahmedabad: Uber, India’s leading ride-hailing platform, today announced its partnership with Indian Railways at Ahmedabad Railway Station. This collaboration aims to significantly improve first- and last-mile connectivity for passengers travelling through one of the fastest-growing railway hubs in Gujarat.
Ahmedabad Railway Station ranks as the 7th largest in India, serving over 1.2 lakh passengers daily, with projections to reach over 3 lakh passengers by 2053. This collaboration represents a major advancement for Uber, as the company introduces its first managed ride-hailing operations at Indian railway stations.
Shiva Shailendran, Director of Consumer Growth & Categories at Uber India and South Asia, said, “Our collaboration at Ahmedabad Railway Station reflects Uber’s commitment to enhancing mobility infrastructure and providing reliable connectivity for travellers. We are dedicated to creating a seamless, multimodal transport experience that makes commuting easier and more efficient for residents of Ahmedabad and beyond.”
Uber’s services at Ahmedabad Railway Station will operate from a dedicated parking area on an elevated section connected directly to the station’s main foot-over bridge. This setup offers easy and quick access for riders and drivers alike. Additionally, Uber vehicles will use the adjacent through-lane for smooth pick-ups and drop-offs. A dedicated support team and rider assistance kiosk have also been established to ensure hassle-free journeys, the company said.
This partnership not only benefits passengers but also increases trip opportunities for Uber drivers in Ahmedabad, supporting their earnings while promoting convenient and reliable mobility options.
