GSRTC to Run 2,600+ Extra Buses Across Gujarat for Diwali Season

Surat: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has announced plans to operate over 2,600 extra daily buses connecting various major cities during the upcoming Diwali festival. According to the GSRTC circular, this arrangement is expected to benefit more than five lakh passengers across the state.

The official statement states that GSRTC operates extra buses during various festivals throughout the year—particularly during Diwali—to ensure that citizens face no inconvenience while traveling. This year, all GSRTC divisions will operate extra buses from October 16 to 19, 2025. Around 1,600 additional buses have been arranged for passengers from Surat traveling to Saurashtra, North Gujarat, as well as artisans and laborers from Dahod and Panchmahal, helping them reach their hometowns for the celebrations.

Passengers traveling to Saurashtra can board buses from Ram Chowk and Mota Varachha in Surat, while those heading to North Gujarat and Ahmedabad can avail bus services from the Surat Central Bus Station. Additionally, buses for passengers from Dahod and Panchmahal will depart from the Surat Urban Bus Station (opposite Surat Central Bus Station) and from Ramnagar, Rander Road, Surat.

During the Diwali festival, in addition to the Surat division, approximately 1,000 extra buses will be operated by the Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Junagadh, Mehsana, Palanpur, and other divisions to manage passenger traffic efficiently. DeshGujarat
