September 30, 2025
Surat: Panic broke out this afternoon when a Thar car suddenly caught fire in the workshop of a Mahindra showroom located in the Adajan-Pal Village, Gaurav Path Road area of Surat. Fortunately, due to the swift action of the fire brigade, a major disaster was averted, though the car in question was completely destroyed by the flames.
According to reports, the fire erupted for unknown reasons in a Thar car parked in the showroom’s service workshop. The blaze quickly intensified, creating chaos among staff and customers present at the workshop. Staff attempted to control the fire but were unable to do so, prompting them to call the fire department.
Deputy Fire Officer S. D. Dhobi stated that if the fire had spread further inside, it could have caused significant damage, as the showroom housed a large number of new cars booked for delivery during the Dussehra festival.
Upon receiving the alert, the fire department team rushed to the spot immediately. Firefighters quickly doused the flames with water, preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the workshop and showroom. The department has now initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire. Deshujarat
