NTPC REL Signs MoU with Gujarat Govt to Develop 15 GW Renewable Energy Projects

Mehsana: State-owned NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) announced on Thursday, October 9, that its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop large-scale renewable energy projects in the state.
Under the MoU, NTPC REL will establish solar projects and parks with a cumulative capacity of 10 GW and wind energy projects totaling 5 GW, resulting in a total renewable energy capacity of 15 GW in Gujarat. The MoU was exchanged during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference 2025 held at Mehsana, North Gujarat.
The MoU, inked for an investment of Rs 1,10,000 crore, aims to create 35,000 jobs. It also marks a significant step in Gujarat’s renewable energy ambitions, leveraging NTPC REL’s expertise in large-scale clean energy projects. The planned solar and wind parks will utilize Gujarat’s abundant natural resources, contributing to both state and national clean energy targets.
The conference, inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, aims to promote sectors including dairy and food processing, agriculture and agro-based industries, automobile components, engineering, renewable energy, and tourism. DeshGujarat
