Jamnagar Police arrest seven over ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ slogan during Eid procession

Jamnagar: After a video clip went viral from an Eid Milad procession in Jamnagar, in which individuals were seen chanting the controversial slogan “Sar Tan Se Juda,” the City A Police have registered a case against seven accused, all of whom have been arrested.

These accused individuals are Mohsin Khan Salim Khan Pathan, Bilal Hasambhai Noyda, Imran Siddiqbhai Qureshi, Harunbhai Qureshi, Sahil Noyda, Altaf Sheikh, and Yunus Bahauddinbhai Belim. The police presented the accused in court, initially seeking a five-day remand. The court has granted them a two-day remand.

The incident relates to a procession that began in the Darbargarh area during the recent Eid Milad festival. During the procession, some participants were seen hoisting flags of different designs and chanting slogans near Darbargarh Circle and Bardhan Chowk. A viral video showed an individual raising the slogan “Sar Tan Se Juda” alongside a green-and-white flag, prompting concern among authorities.

The police suspected that this act was likely to cause a breach of public peace among different communities. After closely verifying and examining the viral video, a complaint was filed against the seven accused, following which an investigation was launched and the arrests were made. DeshGujarat
