Yusuf gang members brutally assault youth in Surat; 6 held

Surat: In a shocking incident, a young man was brutally thrashed by members of the notorious Yusuf gang in the Govindnagar area of Limbayat after he allegedly refused to pay extortion money. Police have arrested six accused involved in the violent attack.
According to reports, the gang collects money from traders and vehicle owners for parking tempos on an open plot. Those who refuse are allegedly attacked. In this case, a young man became their target for not paying the demanded amount.
CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the accused dragging the victim to the ground, kicking him in the face, attempting to break his leg, and even stabbing him during the assault.
The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to Civil Hospital. Notably, the Yusuf gang has multiple cases registered under the GUJCTOC Act. However, the gang’s reign of terror continues, raising serious questions over police action.
Limbayat police recorded the victim’s statement and initiated an investigation using the CCTV footage as primary evidence. Multiple teams were formed to nab the accused. Following their arrest, the police paraded the accused at the crime spot and conducted a reconstruction of the entire incident to establish the sequence of events and create a deterrent effect against other antisocial elements.
