Digi Yatra Staffers at Surat Airport Face Salary Delays
October 18, 2025
Surat: 35 contract employees working for the Digi Yatra service at Surat International Airport are facing delays in receiving their salaries. The staffers submitted a representation to airport officials, who are now considering strict action against the contractor due to repeated delays in salary disbursement.
The Digi Yatra system was introduced at Surat Airport to enhance passenger services, with around 35 staff members appointed for its operation. Initially, these employees received their salaries on time for the first one to two months. However, the contractor has since delayed payments, and this time, the salaries have not been credited even during the festive season.
Employees have reportedly highlighted the financial difficulties caused by the delayed payments in their representation to the Airport Director. Officials have already cautioned the contractor, and employees are requesting that their salaries be credited promptly, especially during Diwali.
It is learnt that if the contract agency fails to release the pending salaries, a proposal will be sent to blacklist the agency, and the pending salaries will be paid from the agency’s deposit. DeshGujarat
