hmedabad: An unusual acid attack case has emerged from the Satellite area, where a wife allegedly threw acid on her husband, suspecting him of having relationships with other women. The victim sustained severe burns on the lower part of his body and has been hospitalized for treatment. The Satellite Police have nabbed the accused woman.

According to police, Ronak Khimsuriya, a resident of Satellite, had a love marriage with Damyanti Parmar two years ago. Recently, Damyanti suspected her husband of having extramarital affairs. Acting on her suspicions, she first poured hot water on him while he was asleep and then threw acid on him. Police investigations revealed that Ronak had previously lived in the Vadaj area and was married before. During that time, he developed a relationship with Damyanti, eventually divorcing his first wife and marrying Damyanti in a court ceremony. Damyanti later moved in with Ronak along with her son from a previous marriage.

Earlier, also the couple approached the Vejalpur police over similar suspicions, which was resolved through mediation.
