10 Gujarat IAS officers deputed as election observers for Bihar polls
October 27, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Election Commission of India has appointed 10 Gujarat-cadre IAS officers as election observers for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled to be held on November 6 and 11.
Typically, during Assembly elections in any state, IAS officers from various state cadres are deputed as election observers by the Election Commission. Following this practice, Gujarat-cadre officers have now been assigned similar responsibilities in Bihar.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) of the Gujarat government, the officers deputed to Bihar include Rajkumar Beniwal, Alok Kumar Pandey, Sandeep Sangle, Milind Torawane, Rajesh Manju, Dr. Rahul B. Gupta, Dr. Dhaval Patel, Nagarajan M., V.J. Rajput, and Harshit P. Gosai.
The GAD has also reassigned the charges of these officers’ respective departments to other officials during their absence. Those temporarily entrusted with these responsibilities include Rajesh Manju, Jenul Devn, P. Swaroop, Dr. Ratankankvar Gadhvicharan, Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Prabhav Joshi, Sanjeev Kumar, Nitin Sangwan, B.A. Shah, I.R. Vala, Ku. I.V. Patel, and V.K. Jadhav.
This routine decision, like other administrative reshuffles, did not attract much public attention due to the recent cabinet reshuffle in the Gujarat government. DeshGujarat
