Indian Coast Guard issues fishermen alert off Gujarat coast
October 27, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has issued an alert for the Gujarat coast as a depression brews over the east-central Arabian Sea, which is expected to bring rough sea conditions and strong winds.
Acting on the forecasts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the ICG has proactively warned all merchant vessels and fishing boats operating along the Gujarat coastline. The Coast Guard’s ships, aircraft, and coastal stations are continuously disseminating weather advisories and maintaining real-time communication with fishermen and other maritime stakeholders.
Mariners and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until conditions improve. The ICG has also heightened its surveillance and preparedness, maintaining round-the-clock monitoring to ensure the safety of lives and property at sea.
From loudspeakers, ICG officials issued a warning saying, “Indian Coast Guard is informing that due to rough sea conditions, all fishing boats should return to the coast.” DeshGujarat
