Multiple vehicles collide on Ahmedabad – Vadodara Expressway; 3 dead, several injured

Ahmedabad: A major road accident occurred near Kanbha on the Ahmedabad–Vadodara Expressway early Monday, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to over 15 others. The death toll may rise as some of the injured remain in critical condition.

The incident took place when a Patel Travels luxury bus collided with a Kia car. Following the collision, both drivers stopped on the roadside to resolve the matter. However, while some passengers had stepped out of the bus, a speeding truck coming from behind rammed into the stationary vehicle, killing three passengers seated at the rear and causing severe injuries to several others. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.

The accident occurred near Raska village in Daskroi taluka. Upon receiving information, Kanbha and Vivekanandnagar police rushed to the spot. Eight ambulances from the 108 service also reached the scene, though traffic congestion on the expressway delayed their movement. Police later cleared the traffic and ensured that the injured were taken to hospitals, some in private vehicles due to the urgency.

The Patel Travels bus suffered extensive rear-end damage, while the Kia car was crushed from both ends. Police have registered a case and are investigating the sequence of events leading to the crash. DeshGujarat
