Foot overbridge to link Chandlodiya A and B railway stations in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Passengers travelling between Chandlodiya A and Chandlodiya B railway stations will soon get a major relief as both stations are being connected through a Y-shaped foot overbridge (FOB). Once completed, commuters will have to walk only about 500 meters instead of the existing 2.5 kilometers to move between the two stations.

Construction work on the Y-shaped FOB has already begun. The project aims to ease passenger movement, saving both time and money. The bridge is being built using bolting and welding techniques, featuring a curved shed design. The main span is being fabricated in Jaipur, while another 200-meter span is under preparation in Rajkot.

The total length of the bridge will be 506 meters. At Chandlodiya A station, it will be 34 meters long and 12 meters wide, with a 200-meter-long and 6-meter-wide extension beyond the station. At Chandlodiya B, Platform 1 will feature a 7.5-meter-wide section, while the stretch towards Platform 2 will measure 272 meters in length and 6 meters in width. The FOB will also be equipped with lifts and escalators for passenger convenience. DeshGujarat
