Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel briefly lost his balance and fell on a rain-soaked stage after offering floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue during the National Unity Day celebrations in the city today. The incident occurred just before he was to flag off the Unity March held to mark the Iron Man’s 150th birth anniversary.
A video from the event shows the Chief Minister slipping on the wet, red-carpeted steps while descending from the platform. Security personnel immediately assisted him, and he was seen unhurt before resuming the event shortly afterward.
The Chief Minister then went on to flag off the Unity March at Naranpura and walked nearly 100 meters alongside participants. The march witnessed massive participation from students, police and fire personnel, and citizens. DeshGujarat
