Statue of Unity: The Indian Air Force enthralled spectators with a spectacular flypast over the Statue of Unity at Kevadia, Gujarat, on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on 31 October 2025. The event marked the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and the architect of national integration.
To commemorate the historic occasion, Indian Air Force helicopters carried out a ceremonial flower petal drop over the Statue of Unity, followed by a breathtaking nine-aircraft formation by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT). The team executed precise aerial manoeuvres, painting the skies in the vibrant colors of the Indian Tricolor.
The aerial display showcased the discipline, professionalism, and teamwork that define the Indian Air Force (IAF), serving as a fitting tribute to Sardar Patel’s vision of a strong and united India.
Instituted by the Government of India, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed every year on 31 October to reaffirm the nation’s commitment to unity, integrity, and security. The celebrations at Kevadia held special significance, being organized at the site of the world’s tallest statue on the serene banks of the Narmada River—a lasting symbol of Sardar Patel’s legacy.
The event drew a large number of visitors and citizens who witnessed both the aerial tribute by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and the ceremonial flower petal shower by IAF helicopters. DeshGujarat
