CGST Asst Commissioner booked by CBI in DA case after raids in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Ankleshwar

Ahmedabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against an Assistant Commissioner, CGST, Jaipur, on the allegations that the accused enriched himself illicitly by amassing pecuniary resources and properties in the name of self and family members.
The law enforcement agency has alleged that the accused, Rati Ram Meena, while serving in the offices of CGST at Jaipur and Ahmedabad from August 2018 to August 2025, acquired assets to the tune of Rs. 2.54 Crores (approx.) through illegal means, approximately 100% disproportionate to his known sources of income, which he cannot satisfactorily account for. It is further alleged that the family members of the accused have ownership of many firms/LLPs/companies, which were used by the accused for routing of his ill-gotten money.
Searches were conducted at various places in Jaipur, Ankleshwar, and Ahmedabad, which led to the recovery of gold/silver jewelry worth Rs. 35 lakh (approx.). The accused and his family were found to have ownership of various immovable properties at different places in Rajasthan and premium vehicles, including a Porsche and Jeep Compass. Besides, two bank lockers have been identified with the names of family members.
