Crocodile rescued from parking of Vadodara society; video goes viral
November 01, 2025
Vadodara: In yet another usual scene for the city, a crocodile found its way into Panchamrut Residency on Harni-Sama Link Road. The 4-foot reptile was spotted in the society’s parking area late last night, first hiding under a two-wheeler and then taking shelter beneath a parked car.
Forest Department officials and members of the Canine Group rushed to the spot and, after a challenging operation, safely captured the crocodile. It was later taken to the rescue centre and will be released into the Vishwamitri River.
Crocodile sightings in Vadodara continue even after the monsoon, as several reptiles moved during the rains and are now reappearing in residential areas. The Vishwamitri River alone is home to over 400 crocodiles, and their venture into city limits has become a common occurrence over the years.
Authorities have urged residents to stay cautious near rivers and ponds and report any sightings to the Forest Department. DeshGujarat
