Gujarat Govt Orders Action on 11 out of 20 Demands of Fair Price Shop Association Amid Strike

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has given a positive response to 11 of the 20 demands raised by the Fair Price Shop Association. A meeting was held today at the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs with representatives of the association to discuss their pending issues. Following the meeting, the department issued written instructions to the concerned offices and district-level administrative and supply authorities to take necessary action on these points, an official statement said.
According to the department, a majority of fair price shop owners have already completed the payment process for the November distribution.
Considering the ongoing cyclone situation and public interest, the department emphasized that the welfare of the 3.5 crore NFSA beneficiaries remains the top priority. It has urged the remaining fair price shop owners to immediately complete payment-related procedures and expedite the ration distribution process to ensure timely delivery of food grains to all beneficiaries.
