Amul and IFFCO Bag Top Two Spots in Global Cooperative Rankings

Anand: Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), which markets dairy products under the Amul brand, has been ranked the number one cooperative in the world based on GDP per capita performance.

The ranking was conducted by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) under the World Cooperative Monitor 2025. The list was announced at the ICA CM50 Conference in Qatar. The recognition underscores Amul’s contribution to empowering millions of dairy farmers through its cooperative model, GCMMF said on Tuesday. The ICA represents cooperatives and promotes their sustainable business model.

Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah congratulated Amul and the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) for occupying the first two ranks among the top ten cooperatives in the world.

In a post on X, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah said, “A proud moment for Bharat!
