November 10, 2025
Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today launched the new website of Census Gujarat in Gandhinagar.
The website, developed by the Directorate of Census of Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, provides user-friendly access with modern features, a simple navigation menu, and multilingual functionality, an official release said.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the objective of balanced development, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the effective implementation and planning of welfare schemes, aligns with the tagline “Jan Ganana se Jan Kalyan.” He added that the launch of this new website would further strengthen that vision.
The Chief Minister appreciated that the upcoming Census 2027 will, for the first time, be conducted completely in digital mode through a mobile application. He noted that a self-enumeration facility is also being introduced, allowing citizens to securely submit their information through a web portal. This feature will initially be tested in selected districts under a pilot project.
Providing details about the new website: https://gujarat.census.gov.in/, State Census Director Sujal Mayatra said that rehearsals have already been conducted for Census 2027, and various mobile applications have been tested.
For the pre-test phase of Census 2027, 133 blocks under the Surat Municipal Corporation, 70 blocks across 26 villages of Devgadhbaria taluka in Dahod district, and 60 blocks across 25 villages of Tankara taluka in Morbi district have been selected. The Census Director informed that preliminary operations in these selected areas will be carried out between November 10 and 30. DeshGujarat
