NID Ahmedabad inks MoU with PM Museum to extend its design expertise at Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya

Ahmedabad: In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call for “Design in India, Design for the World” and his vision to make Bharat self-reliant in the field of design, the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, has initiated several strategic collaborations with government ministries and institutions to promote design-led research and innovation.

As part of these initiatives, NID Ahmedabad has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Forensic Sciences University, the Ministry of Minority Affairs under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman (PM Vikas) Scheme, and the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme.

Most recently, on 6 November 2025, NID Ahmedabad signed an MoU with the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML), New Delhi, to extend its design expertise for various interventions at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya. The collaboration covers the design of exhibits and exhibition galleries, promotional materials and collaterals, public facilities and utilities, ticket counters, signage systems, and overall branding of the Sangrahalaya.

The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya stands as a tribute to every Prime Minister of India since Independence. It presents a narrative record of how each leader has contributed to nation-building and the strengthening of democracy over the past 75 years. The museum is a testament to India’s collective journey—from the hardships of colonial rule to becoming a self-reliant nation marked by social harmony, economic empowerment, and infrastructural progress.

Through this collaboration, NID Ahmedabad aims to leverage its design expertise to enrich the visitor experience at the Sangrahalaya, thereby strengthening India’s design footprint in projects of national significance. DeshGujarat
