Gujarat Police round up multiple suspected persons from Gir Somnath, Junagadh

Gujarat: Following the car blast near the Red Fort in the National Capital on November 10, Gujarat has been placed on high alert, with police closely monitoring suspicious activities across the state.

Today, the Junagadh Special Operations Group (SOG) rounded up two suspected Kashmiris from Mangrol for further investigation. Preliminary investigations suggest that the individuals were allegedly collecting contributions from Mangrol city and nearby madrasas.

Separately, the Gir Somnath Police also questioned three persons who were staying in a mosque in Nawabandar, Una taluka. In the initial probe, the trio, who reportedly earn a living by begging, showed no suspicious activity so far. However, according to the Nawabandar Marine Police, the matter is still under thorough investigation. The Gir Somnath Police initiated the probe after the Diu Police flagged these individuals.

Notably, a day ago, Bhuj SOG officials had detained a Kashmiri family staying at Bhuj’s Janata Ghar Hotel. The family, which includes a woman, reportedly migrates from Kashmir during the winter to beg in other regions. Preliminary investigations revealed that the family had been staying at the hotel since November 1. During the day, they went begging in the minority areas of Bhuj and returned to the hotel at night. The authorities have sent their belongings for forensic analysis to the FSL, while the Jammu Police have also been contacted to verify these individuals. DeshGujarat
