Porbandar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today arrested an individual for accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 outside the Office of the Assistant Director of Fisheries, located in the Old Court Building campus in Porbandar.
According to the ACB, the accused, Dineshbhai Premjibhai Salet (56), a resident of Kharwawad in the Kirti Mandir area of Porbandar, had allegedly demanded ₹16,500 from the complainant, claiming the money was meant to be paid to Fisheries Department officials for processing the registration of the complainant’s fishing boat. Of this amount, ₹10,000 was to be paid today.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant contacted the ACB through its toll-free helpline and lodged a formal complaint. After verifying the allegations, the Junagadh ACB team organised a trap. During the operation, the accused demanded the bribe and was caught red-handed while accepting it. He was immediately arrested, and the entire amount was recovered on the spot. DeshGujarat
