143 kg of suspicious Butter seized from two dairies in Surat

Surat: Continuing its crackdown on adulterated dairy products, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of city police, in a joint operation with the Food Safety Department of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), raided two dairies in Punagam and Varachha. A total of 143 kilograms of suspicious butter, worth around Rs 28,600, was seized, preventing potential health risks to consumers.
The first raid was conducted at Amritdhara Dairy in Punagam, where 58 kilograms of suspicious butter were seized in the presence of operator Bhupatbhai Naranbhai Parmar, valued at Rs 11,600. The second raid took place at Janata Dairy near Janata Nagar in Varachha, where 85 kilograms of suspicious butter were seized in the presence of owner/operator Dhanshyambhai Jerambhai Dudhat, valued at Rs 17,000.
The seized butter has been sealed, and samples have been sent for laboratory testing to determine its safety. Authorities said that if the butter is found adulterated or unfit for consumption, strict legal action will be taken against the operators and owners. DeshGujarat
