December 03, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has disbursed more than ₹1,098 crore to over 3.39 lakh farmers affected by crop losses due to unseasonal rains, Spokesperson Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said today. He added that the state has so far received over 29.80 lakh applications for assistance under the agricultural relief package.
Vaghani said the government acted swiftly after unseasonal rains damaged crops across the state, completing Panch Rojkam in record time and announcing a ₹10,000-crore agricultural relief package. The application process was launched immediately and later extended by seven days to ensure no affected farmer is left out.
Applications are still being accepted through village VCE/VLE centres until December 5. According to the Agriculture Department, applications are being verified in phases, and assistance is being directly credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
So far, assistance has been approved for 4.91 lakh farmers, with bills worth ₹1,497 crore prepared. Of this, ₹1,098 crore has already been transferred. Vaghani said payments to remaining farmers will also be completed in phases, ensuring that every eligible farmer receives support without delay. DeshGujarat
