Ahmedabad civic body seals 9 hospitals for lacking necessary permit

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed nine hospitals in the South West Zone for continuing to operate without obtaining necessary Building Use permission (BU Permit) and failing to regularize construction under GRDA-2022, despite repeated verbal warnings and earlier notice. The action was taken on the morning of 3rd December 2025 as part of public safety measures, the civic body said.

AMC warned that in the coming days, similar action will be taken against multiplexes, educational institutions, and other assembly-type units that have not obtained usage permission or have not regularized their construction under GRDA-2022.
