Mehsana MP seeks establishment of U.S. Visa facilitation center in Gujarat

New Delhi: Haribhai Patel, the Member of Parliament (MP) representing Mehsana Lok Sabha constituency, has called for the establishment of a United States of America Visa Facilitation Services center in Gujarat. The MP raised the proposal during the ongoing winter session of Parliament.

Patel stated that currently, there are no dedicated U.S. visa posts present in the state of Gujarat. This absence forces residents seeking U.S. visa applications and related services to travel to distant major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, or Chennai.

The Mehsana MP emphasized that this mandatory travel results in a significant wastage of both time and money for the citizens of Gujarat.

Addressing the issue, Patel said, “In my parliamentary constituency of Mehsana Lok Sabha, as well as in North Gujarat, there is not a single United States of America Visa Facilitation Service center. As a result, the residents here have to travel to Delhi, Mumbai, or Chennai for visa applications and other related services, which causes a huge waste of time and money. Therefore, I respectfully urge the External Affairs Minister of the Government of India, through the House, to open a U.S. Visa Facilitation Service (VFS) center in my parliamentary constituency of Mehsana in North Gujarat so that residents of Mehsana Lok Sabha constituency as well as the entire North Gujarat region can access these services easily and conveniently. Thank you.” DeshGujarat
