Gujarat ATS, Jodhpur police bust illegal MD drug factory; 6 held

Jodhpur: Jodhpur Rural Police and the Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) have busted a drug manufacturing facility in Shergarh and arrested six persons. The MD drug unit was found in the deserted sand dunes of Sointara village following intelligence from the Gujarat ATS.

The breakthrough came during the Gujarat ATS’s investigation into a ₹38 crore drug seizure. The agency traced wanted accused Monu Ojha to Sirmakhiya village in Balotra. Ojha, along with Govind Singh and several others, was hiding at a residence owned by Dungar Singh. During interrogation, both Monu and Govind revealed details of the Sointara drug lab, prompting a joint raid by the Gujarat ATS and Shergarh Police.

At the site, officers found a shed converted into a fully functional drug factory. Several drums filled with chemical substances used to manufacture MD drugs were recovered. Preliminary estimates suggest the chemicals could produce MD drugs worth around ₹2 crore. The accused reportedly came to the factory late at night to prepare the drugs and left before morning to evade detection. DST and FSL teams collected chemical samples, while Jodhpur Rural SP Narayan Togas personally supervised the investigation. A total of 40 kilograms of liquid MD drugs, along with significant raw material, were seized.

Network Across States

Police officials stated that the gang operates across Gujarat and Rajasthan, with links to the Vapi drug network. Preliminary investigations also revealed that Monu Ojha, the main accused, handled the drug manufacturing operations and had learned to produce MD drugs from the internet. He had previously manufactured MD drugs in Coorg (South India) and in Gujarat. Unlike standard operations that use machines, the accused were manually producing MD drugs.

Initial findings indicate that the drugs manufactured here were supplied to traffickers in Pratapgarh, highlighting the reach of this cross-state network.

Six Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

Those arrested include Dungar Singh (50), Alimuddin (58), Govind Singh (40), Monu Ojha (36), Ranvijay Singh (50), and Aziz Khan (48). Police are interrogating the suspects, and further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the network. DeshGujarat
