Valsad: A tense, high-risk incident unfolded early Monday morning at Valsad railway station after a young man climbed onto the roof of the Gujarat Queen train and then scaled a high-voltage electric pole, putting his life in extreme danger.
The youth, identified as Anil Patel, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was seen hanging precariously close to live wires as shocked onlookers gathered below. The incident triggered an immediate response from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), local police and the Fire Brigade, who rushed to the spot and launched a coordinated rescue operation. Officials said it took “considerable effort” to safely bring Anil down from the high-risk zone without causing harm to him or disrupting rail operations.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the youth had been suffering from severe mental stress, which reportedly led him to take the dangerous step.
After the rescue, authorities contacted Anil’s family and handed him over to them for further care. DeshGujarat
