Income Tax dept searches premises linked to Vinod Denim Group in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Income Tax Department has launched a large-scale search operation targeting Vinod Group, a leading denim jeans manufacturer in the city.
Reports indicate that raids are underway at over 35 premises linked to the company, including the residences of 19 individuals, among them directors Vinod Mittal and his brother. Searches are being conducted in areas including Satellite, Narol, Pirana, Saijpur, and Piplaj as part of the ongoing investigation.
It is learnt that more than 150 officers from the state’s Investigation Wing, including teams from Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara, are involved in the operation, which began early this morning. The move has sent ripples across the city’s textile circles.
Vinod Denim Limited, a listed company, has its corporate office at Mondelium Heights on Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway and its main factory in Piplaj Industrial Area, along with four additional units in Ahmedabad. The company exports denim to over 25 countries.
According to reports, the ongoing investigation may uncover discrepancies, including unaccounted cash and documents, potentially exposing crores in unreported income over the next few days. DeshGujarat
