Youths vandalise Ahmedabad travel office over roadside cake dispute; CCTV video goes viral

Ahmedabad: A dispute over cake-cutting on a public road near Memco Chowk turned violent on Friday night when a group of five youths allegedly attacked a bus operator and his son after being asked to move aside by a luxury bus driver.
Shaherkotda police registered an FIR after the group reportedly barged into the travel office near Memco Chowk, assaulted employees and family members of the firm’s owner, Mahendrakumar Chaudhary, and vandalized the office. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows one of the assailants brandishing a knife.
According to police, around 9 pm on Friday, a driver of the company’s luxury buses informed the office that a group of youths was blocking traffic near Memco Bridge while cutting a cake on the road. When the driver asked them to move aside, a fight reportedly broke out.
Mahendrakumar then sent another employee to handle the situation. Shortly afterward, the same youths allegedly entered Mahendrakumar’s office, vandalized property, and assaulted him and his son.
One of the assailants was seen in CCTV footage brandishing a knife while attacking the victims. Following the assault, all the suspects fled the scene. Mahendrakumar has filed a police complaint at Shaherkotda Police Station against Amrish, Rahul, Vivek, and two others. DeshGujarat
