Winter tightens grip in Gujarat, minimum temperatures fall in several regions

Ahmedabad: Gujarat experienced a noticeable dip in minimum temperatures across several regions on Tuesday, indicating a mild intensification of winter conditions in the state, according to the latest weather observations of the India Meteorological Department.
Among the major centres, Naliya in Kutch recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 10.4°C, which was 0.7°C below normal, making it the coldest place in the state. Baroda also witnessed a significant drop, with the night temperature settling at 12.2°C, 1.8°C below normal, while Porbandar recorded 13.9°C, 1.9°C below normal.
In Amreli, the minimum temperature was 12.6°C, marginally below normal, while Bhavnagar recorded 15.0°C, close to seasonal averages. Rajkot saw a minimum of 14.0°C, slightly below normal, and Ahmedabad recorded 14.7°C, about 1.1°C above normal, though still on the cooler side for residents.
Coastal and southern parts of the state remained relatively warmer. Surat recorded a minimum temperature of 18.1°C, while Veraval and Dwarka reported 18.4°C and 19.4°C, respectively. Okha remained the warmest at night with a minimum of 20.9°C.
Maximum temperatures across most regions hovered near normal or slightly below normal, ranging between 28°C and 32°C, while no rainfall was reported anywhere in the state over the past 24 hours.
Meteorological officials indicated that dry weather conditions are likely to continue, with cool nights persisting over parts of north Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch in the coming days.
