OTP-based Tatkal booking made compulsory for some Western Railway trains passing via Gujarat

Surat: Western Railway has announced that Tatkal tickets for select trains will be available only after OTP-based authentication, both at PRS counters and on the IRCTC website, with effect from December 18, 2025.
According to the railway authorities, the move is aimed at enhancing transparency and preventing misuse of the Tatkal booking facility. Under the revised system, passengers will be required to authenticate their booking through a system-generated One-Time Password (OTP) before completing the Tatkal ticket reservation.
The OTP-based Tatkal booking system will be implemented for the following Western Railway trains:
- Train No. 12465 Indore – Bhagat Ki Kothi Ranthambhore Express
- Train No. 19005 Surat – Bhusaval Express
- Train No. 19015 Dadar – Porbandar Saurashtra Express
- Train No. 19045 Surat – Thawe Tapti Ganga Express
- Train No. 19223 Sabarmati – Jammu Tawi Express
- Train No. 19255 Surat – Mahuva Express
- Train No. 19315 Indore – Asarva Virbhumi Express
- Train No. 19316 Asarva – Indore Virbhumi Express
- Train No. 19489 Ahmedabad – Gorakhpur Express
Western Railway has advised passengers to ensure that their registered mobile numbers are active and accessible at the time of booking to avoid inconvenience. Further details and updates will be available on the official IRCTC and Western Railway platforms. DeshGujarat
