Youth nabbed in Surat for taking minor girl to hotel using fake Aadhaar card in Hindu name

Surat: Activists of local Hindu organisations on Wednesday reached a hotel located at Regent Plaza in the Dindoli area of the city following information about a young man allegedly staying with a Hindu minor girl after concealing his identity. The incident led to a major commotion at the hotel premises, prompting police intervention.

According to details, a Muslim youth and a Hindu minor had checked into the Way Point Hotel on the fourth floor of Regent Plaza. The youth allegedly entered a Hindu name in the hotel register and submitted a fake Aadhaar card reflecting the same identity. It is further alleged that a fake Aadhaar card was also produced for the minor accompanying him, allegedly to mislead the hotel management.

Acting on the tip-off, the activists reached the hotel and confronted the youth. During the confrontation, the situation escalated, and the youth was allegedly assaulted inside the hotel. Later, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

The organisation later alleged that despite the recovery of allegedly fake documents, strict action had not yet been taken against the youth. Bajrang Dal activists demanded strict punishment for the youth, claiming the case involved identity fraud and a minor.

Reacting to the incident, Surat ACP Nirav Gohil said the police are in touch with the organisation and preliminary information indicates that the girl is a minor. “A detailed investigation will be conducted, and appropriate legal action will be taken. Efforts are being made to register a complaint based on the findings,” he said.

Police stated that all aspects of the case, including the authenticity of the documents and the role of the hotel management, are being examined. DeshGujarat
