AMC to attempt Guinness World Record on opening day of Kankaria Carnival
December 24, 2025
Ahmedabad: The opening day of Kankaria Carnival 2025 tomorrow, on December 25, will feature a high-profile Guinness World Record attempt, adding an international dimension to the city’s biggest annual festival. On the morning of December 25, organisers will attempt to create the “world’s largest balloon mosaic formed by people” at the carnival venue.
More than 3,500 sanitation workers will participate in the event, collectively assembling the massive balloon mosaic bearing a specially designed logo. Officials said the record attempt symbolises collective effort and civic pride, while also highlighting Ahmedabad on a global platform. The Guinness World Record programme is expected to attract large crowds on the first day and set the tone for the rest of the seven-day carnival.
This initiative aims to break the current record set by the Panasonic Group, Japan, with 1,760 participants on April 2, 2024. The record attempt will be followed by a packed schedule of cultural and entertainment programmes across multiple stages, ensuring a festive start to the carnival that blends spectacle with public participation.
