Gujarat sees warmer nights as minimum temperatures stay above normal

Ahmedabad: Most parts of Gujarat recorded a rise in minimum temperatures on Thursday, with several stations reporting night temperatures above normal, as per the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) weather report issued at 8:30 am on December 25.
Ahmedabad registered a minimum temperature of 16.4°C, which is 3.4°C above normal, while Gandhinagar recorded 15.0°C, 3.5°C above normal, indicating warmer-than-usual night conditions over the region.
Baroda recorded a minimum temperature of 13.4°C, which was a drop from the previous day, while in Surat the mercury reached 18.2°C, which is 2.1°C above normal.
Deesa reported a minimum of 13.1°C, 2.3°C above normal, and Diu recorded 16.4°C, 3.2°C above normal.
Saurashtra and coastal areas also experienced higher night temperatures. Dwarka recorded 18.1°C (0.9°C above normal), Porbandar 15.4°C (0.3°C above normal), Rajkot 14.2°C (0.6°C above normal), and Veraval 18.5°C (1.5°C above normal). In South Gujarat, Surat reported 18.2°C, 2.1°C above normal.
In Kutch, Bhuj recorded 13.8°C (1.9°C above normal), while Kandla registered 15.6°C (0.8°C above normal). However, Naliya remained the coolest location, with a minimum of 10.3°C, marginally below normal by 0.2°C.
The IMD data indicates that minimum temperatures were above normal by 0.3°C to 3.5°C at most observatories across the state, signalling milder winter nights and a gradual easing of cold conditions over several districts. DeshGujarat
