Alkapuri Garnala Underpass in Vadodara Shuts for Traffic till January 12

Vadodara: Vehicular traffic on the busy Alkapuri Garnala stretch in Vadodara will remain closed from December 26, 2025, to January 12, 2026, due to girder placement work related to the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Railway (Bullet Train) project.

The closure affects traffic movement from the city’s busy market area towards Alkapuri Garnala. In view of the excavation work, traffic has been diverted, and a formal notification in this regard has been issued by the Police Commissioner.

Prior to implementing the diversion plan, the Traffic Police Department conducted a detailed survey of the area. Based on the assessment, vehicles will not be allowed to move from Kadak Bazaar towards Alkapuri Garnala.

As per the diversion arrangements, commuters traveling from Kadak Bazaar Naka can proceed towards the railway station, and from Kala Ghoda to Dairy Den Circle, Surya Palace Hotel crossroads, and from Jetalpur Bridge towards Vallabh Chowk.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Productivity Naka will not be able to reach Sayajiganj via Alkapuri. Instead, commuters can travel from Productivity Naka to Jetalpur via Vallabh Chowk Char Rasta.

The city police have appealed to citizens to follow the diversion signs, cooperate with traffic personnel, and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the closure period.
