GSRTC Announces 3% Passenger Fare Hike

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has announced a 3 per cent increase in the bus fares of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). The revised fares will come into effect from midnight on December 31, 2025, that is, from January 1, 2026.

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) operates more than 8,000 buses daily, covering over 3.2 million kilometres and providing public transport services to around 2.7 million passengers across the state.

Despite challenging situations such as floods, cyclones, fires and pandemics, the corporation continues to provide uninterrupted transport services to the people of Gujarat. In the past one year, GSRTC has also inaugurated 13 new bus stations and depots to strengthen transport infrastructure and improve passenger convenience, the department said in a press release.

Officials said the fare revision has been undertaken to support the sustainability of public transport services and to further enhance operational efficiency. Notably, bus fares were earlier increased by 10 per cent on March 28, 2025. With this latest decision, fares have been hiked for the second time in nine months. DeshGujarat
