Five Bangladeshi nationals held for illegal stay in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jamnagar police has arrested five Bangladeshi nationals for illegally residing in the city. The arrested persons include two men and three women, who were found living in a rented house in Patel Colony without valid travel or residential documents.

The arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Shahabuddin Mohammad Gaus Sheikh, Mohammad Arif Muzibur Sheikh, Jamila Begum Anardi Sheikh, Nazma Begum Abdul Hakim Howladar, and Mursida Begum Mohammad Arif Muzibur Sheikh.

According to the police, the arrests were made as part of an ongoing drive to identify and detain illegal foreign nationals residing in sensitive areas of the district. During the preliminary investigation, police recovered Aadhaar cards issued in West Bengal from the accused. Further verification revealed that the individuals had entered India without valid passports, visas, or prior permission from the Government of India.

The SOG has registered a case against all five under relevant provisions of the Passport Act, and a detailed investigation is currently underway to ascertain their route of entry into the country, duration of stay, and possible local assistance.
