Gujarat Tourism Unveils International Kite Festival 2026 Schedule

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Tourism has announced the schedule for the International Kite Festival 2026, inviting kite flyers and visitors from India and abroad to experience the state’s iconic celebration of colour, creativity and culture.
According to an official announcement, the 2026 edition will be organised across multiple major cities and heritage destinations in Gujarat between January 10 and January 14, offering visitors an opportunity to witness diverse kite-flying traditions against varied cultural backdrops.
International Kite Festival 2026: City-wise Schedule
January 10: Rajkot, Surat, Dholavira
January 11: Shivrajpur, SOU – Ekta Nagar, Vadnagar
January 12–14: Ahmedabad
January 13: Vadodara
January 14: Hanol, Palitana
Gujarat Tourism said, “This January, let the kites lead you across Gujarat as the International Kite Festival 2026 unfolds across iconic destinations. From Rajkot, Surat and Dholavira to Shivrajpur, SOU–Ekta Nagar, Vadnagar, Ahmedabad and Hanol–Palitana, the skies come alive with colour, culture and celebration. Plan your journey and experience Uttarayan at its most spectacular.”
Visitors have been advised to plan their travel in advance, as key destinations, particularly Ahmedabad, are likely to witness high footfall during the festival period.
Notably, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, will also be visiting Gujarat during the kite festival and as per the reports, he is expected to attend the Kite Festival in Ahmedabad on January 11 or 12, along with an expected tour of the Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026, which is being held at the Sabarmati Riverfront in the city.
