Gujarat shivers as minimum temperatures dip further; Naliya at season’s coldest at 4.8°C

Ahmedabad: People of Gujarat continued to experience cool winter conditions, with minimum temperatures remaining below normal at most locations across the state, according to the weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department this morning.
Kutch’s Naliya recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 4.8°C, a sharp 4.8 degrees below normal, making it the coldest place in Gujarat for the day. Rajkot also witnessed a significant dip, with the mercury dropping to 9.4°C, 3.1 degrees below normal, while Amreli recorded 8.6°C, 2.7 degrees below normal.
Deesa reported a minimum temperature of 10.1°C, close to normal, while Gandhinagar recorded 10.8°C, slightly above normal. Ahmedabad registered a minimum of 11.7°C, 0.6 degrees below normal, indicating mild cold conditions in the central region.
Coastal and Saurashtra districts largely remained comparatively warmer. Bhavnagar recorded a minimum of 13.8°C, close to normal, while Porbandar saw 12.8°C, 1.4 degrees below normal. Dwarka recorded 14.2°C, 2 degrees below normal, and Kandla reported 11.9°C, also 2 degrees below normal.
In south Gujarat, Surat registered a minimum temperature of 15.0°C, marginally below normal, while Union Territory Daman and Diu recorded 16.8°C and 15.8°C respectively, both remaining on the warmer side.
No rainfall was reported from any part of the state during the last 24 hours. Weather officials said the persistence of dry conditions and clear skies is contributing to the continued chill during the night and early morning hours across several parts of Gujarat. DeshGujarat
