January 22, 2026
Ahmedabad: A massive fire broke out early Thursday morning at an e-commerce company’s warehouse located on the road opposite the Swaminarayan Temple in the TP-44 area of Chandkheda. The building also housed warehouses of Zepto and other companies.
More than 11 fire tenders and around 35 fire personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the blaze. Firefighters launched an intensive firefighting operation and managed to bring the fire under control after several hours.
The fire was so intense that it engulfed the entire warehouse within a short time. A portion of the shed structure collapsed due to the heat. However, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far. Fire officials said cooling operations are currently underway as debris remains hot and there is a risk of re-ignition beneath the collapsed structure.
According to Divisional Fire Officer Pankaj Rawal, the incident occurred at an e-commerce warehouse situated on the road leading towards Keshavbaug in the Chandkheda TP-44 area. The facility was being used as a distribution centre supplying goods for multiple e-commerce companies.
Fire department officials said that goods stored inside the warehouse were completely gutted in the blaze. Preliminary information suggests that inventory belonging to Instacart was stored in the godown at the time of the incident.
Officials also inspected the rear portion of the warehouse, where a fire safety system was found to be installed. The warehouse operator and owner will be summoned as part of the investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Authorities confirmed that there has been no loss of life, and firefighting and cooling operations are still in progress. DeshGujarat
