Pakistani Man Apprehended While Crossing Kutch Border Near Khawda, Sent to JIC

Bhuj: A Pakistani national was apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) while attempting to cross the Indo-Pak border near Khawda in Kutch district. The incident occurred between Border Pillar No. 1076 and 1077 near Sandeep Border Out Post (BOP).

According to information from Khawda Police Station, the BSF patrol team noticed suspicious movement and detained the man at around 8:30 am on the morning of the 23rd. The detained individual is approximately 50 years old. During the initial checking by the BSF, no incriminating material was recovered from him.

Following preliminary questioning, the BSF handed over the Pakistani national to Khawda Police for further legal action. The police registered an FIR and later sent him to the Joint Interrogation Center (JIC) for detailed interrogation and investigation.

During initial questioning by Khawda Police, efforts were made to ascertain the man’s identity, name, and address. However, police stated that the individual appears to be mentally challenged and was unable to properly understand questions or communicate.

It may be recalled that a Pakistani couple was apprehended earlier from the border area after illegally entering India, reportedly crossing difficult terrain of mud flats and desert. In view of these incidents and especially after the January 26 security-related incident, all security and intelligence agencies have been put on high alert along the border. DeshGujarat
