Gujarat Police Recruitment: Two booked for malpractice in Jamnagar
January 29, 2026
Jamnagar: A cheating case has come to light during the ongoing police recruitment practical examination in Jamnagar, after two candidates were caught committing irregularities in the running test. A complaint has been filed against them at the City B-Division Police Station.
Police recruitment physical tests are being held across Gujarat, with about 1,600 candidates appearing daily at the Jamnagar Police Headquarters ground. On January 21, 908 candidates attended the exam, where each participant must complete 5,000 metres within 25 minutes.
Officials found that the running chip assigned to candidate Arjunsinh Sukhubha Jadeja was not registering any data. Verification from the Gandhinagar Control Room confirmed that the chip was inactive. During questioning, it was revealed that Arjunsinh allegedly handed over both his chips to fellow candidate Shivbhadrasinh Dashrathsinh Jadeja before the race, planning to retrieve one during the 12th round to falsely show completion of the run.
Police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
