IndiGo flight makes emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: An IndiGo flight travelling from Kuwait to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in the city after a bomb threat was received. The alert was triggered after a tissue paper containing a threatening message about hijacking and blowing up the aircraft was found onboard.
Following the incident, security agencies immediately swung into action. All 180 passengers and their luggage were thoroughly screened. Airport sources said no suspicious or objectionable items have been found so far.
Airport Police Station PI N.D. Nakume confirmed that the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) carried out a complete inspection of the aircraft.
